Antonio Conte will not be alone when he meets Inter president Steven Zhang to discuss his future, according to a report in the Italian media today.

Inter’s head coach is awaiting talks with Zhang which should go a great way to clarifying what next season will look like for the Nerazzurri.

Gazzetta dello Sport’s print edition said it was only right that Inter’s directors were also in attendance for the face-to-face meeting between Conte and Zhang, because everyone deserved to hear about the club’s ambitions and plans.

It is therefore likely that Beppe Marotta, Alessandro Antonello and Piero Ausilio will also be present, in a ‘remake’ of last summer’s summit at Villa Bellini.

Zhang needs to make sure everybody is on the same page about Inter’s current situation on and off the pitch, the Milan-based paper continued.

Inter’s meeting will need to clarify whether Suning’s ambitions are the same as they were two years ago, when Conte was appointed as head coach, or whether they will need to downscale operations due to the club’s financial plight.

The key to keeping Conte and succeeding next season, the report argued, is to make sure there are no misunderstandings between the club’s officials and that everyone is singing off the same hymn sheet in public.

The meeting must help everyone gain the clarity they need about where Inter are headed, at which point each can decide for themselves whether they still want to be part of the Suning project.
