Antonio Conte will hold talks with Steven Zhang to discuss his future at Inter tomorrow, according to a leading Italian broadcaster.
Sport Mediaset (via FcInterNews.it) said the Nerazzurri’s ‘D-Day’ would finally arrive on Thursday, barring any last-minute changes of plan.
Conte and Zhang will meet along with Inter directors Beppe Marotta, Alessandro Antonello and Piero Ausilio in a crucial summit to determine the club’s immediate future.
Inter’s head coach is likely to make a decision on whether to stay at the club once he has heard from Zhang tomorrow.
Conte and Inter’s directors will seek clear reassurance from owners Suning about what direction Inter are headed in, the report added.
They will want clarity in particular on the news which broke today, regarding Oaktree Capital and their imminent arrival at the club as minority shareholders (replacing LionRock Capital).
Conte wants reassurance that Suning intend to continue with ‘a winning project’ at Inter, despite their need to cut costs ahead of next season.
Inter’s boss is hoping his owners can keep hold of all his top players and maintain the squad at a competitive level.
