Inter will look to sell two of their Scudetto heroes in the summer, according to a report in the Italian media today.

As per Corriere dello Sport’s print edition, the Nerazzurri have no option but to reduce their wage bill as they seek to cut costs to ease their financial problems.

Club president Steven Zhang asked players to take wage cuts last week, but that request was rejected and now Suning must find alternative measures.

Inter will therefore need to offload some of their highest earners, among which are Christian Eriksen and Ivan Perisic.

Eriksen and Perisic became decisive players en route to the Serie A title after the January transfer window, both nailing down spots in Antonio Conte’s starting XI.

Conte would be prepared to sacrifice them though, if necessary, and so Inter are hoping they can receive offers from the Premier League (for Eriksen) and the Bundesliga (for Perisic).

If Inter could find buyers for both Eriksen and Perisic, as well as for their Chilean duo Arturo Vidal and Alexis Sanchez, they might be able to avoid sacrificing one of their real star players.

It will depend on what the market offers to Inter though, because none of those players will be easy to shift due to their salaries.

Romelu Lukaku and Lautaro Martinez are certain to have interest from the Premier League and La Liga, the Rome-based paper warned, while Alessandro Bastoni has a big admirer in Pep Guardiola at Manchester City.

Inter will be hoping they are not forced to consider selling any of those three.
