Inter have named their price to Sporting CP in their talks over Joao Mario, according to a report in Portugal today.
As per Esporte ao Minuto, the Nerazzurri have made it clear they would consider selling the midfielder if Sporting CP made an offer worth €8 million.
Joao Mario’s contract expires in 2022 and this summer is Inter’s last chance to bring in any kind of money from the 28-year-old.
The midfielder earns €2.7 million annually, which is supposedly more than Sporting CP can afford, but this report assured Joao Mario’s salary would not be a problem during negotiations.
Joao Mario rejoined his boyhood club on a season-long loan last summer and has helped Sporting CP win their first Liga NOS title since way back in 2002.
In an interview with Record yesterday, he assured he would be very happy to remain with the Portuguese champions, although Sporting CP boss Ruben Amorim has warned they ‘cannot control’ his future.
