Antonio Conte will leave Inter if the Nerazzurri sell any of his three ‘untouchables’, according to a report in the Italian media today.

As per Gazzetta dello Sport’s print edition, Conte is aware he cannot make excessive demands given the club’s financial problems, but there is one request on which he will not budge.

Inter must not sell Romelu Lukaku, Lautaro Martinez or Nicolo Barella if they want to keep hold of Conte, because they are all essential to maintaining the team at a certain competitive level.

All three would also be extremely difficult to replace, so it will be up to Suning to ensure none of them are sacrificed in the transfer window.

Conte wants to keep hold of the group which stormed to the Serie A title this season, but the Milan-based paper warned that he already knew this wouldn’t be possible.

Inter will have a limit budget in the transfer market and that means they will have to make some sacrifices, while also reducing the club’s wage bill and the squad’s average age.
