Antonio Conte Would Love To Keep Working With Inter Players, Italian Media Suggest

Antonio Conte could choose to stay at Inter due to his excellent relationship with his players, according to a report in the Italian media today.

Gazzetta dello Sport’s print edition said there was a general feeling of optimism around the club that Conte would agree to stay as head coach, after he meets with Inter president Steven Zhang.

One of the factors pushing Conte towards staying is the watertight relationship with the Nerazzurri squad, which has never been stronger than it is right now.

Conte celebrated Inter’s Serie A title with the players yesterday with a special lunch in the centre of Milan, underlining how well they get on.

Inter have reached new heights under Conte but there are still many players with room for improvement if he stayed, the Milan-based paper argued.

Not everyone has reached their full potential yet – such as Lautaro Martinez and Christian Eriksen – and this could persuade Conte it is worth staying, a potentially more important factor in his decision than his hefty annual salary worth €13 million.

Zhang is convinced he can convince Conte to remain head coach, just as he managed to do last summer when they met for a summit at Villa Bellini.

Inter’s president is well aware that if he is celebrating winning the Scudetto now, it’s thanks in no small part to the job Conte has done.
