Inter have named their price for Joao Mario and they will not budge, according to a report in the Italian media.

As per FcInterNews.it, Joao Mario wants to remain at Sporting CP after an excellent season on loan in Portugal, where he helped Ruben Amorim’s side win the Liga NOS.

Inter consider the midfielder surplus to requirements and want to sell him, but the Nerazzurri might need to be patient before they can secure a deal.

Due to their ongoing economic problems, Inter cannot afford to record a net loss on Joao Mario and that means they will not sell for less than €8 million.

Sporting CP feel they are in a strong position though, given Joao Mario’s desire to re-sign for them permanently, so they may try to drag out negotiations and force Inter to lower their demands.

A compromise solution could be to spread the €8 million transfer fee across four seasons, so that Sporting CP paid €2 million annually, or to include a few young players in the deal.

Joao Mario’s salary is not expected to represent a problem, with the report suggesting he could get a signing-on bonus if and when he joins Sporting CP permanently.
