Inter have hailed Alessandro Bastoni as ‘one of Italy’s best defenders’ after revisiting his superb assist during last month’s 1-0 win at Bologna.

Bastoni teared down the left wing and shrugged off a challenge from Andreas Skov Olsen, before crossing for Romelu Lukaku to head in the winner from close range.

Inter took advantage of their partnership with American sports drinks company Gatorade to revisit Bastoni’s lung-busting run and praised his ‘unstoppable energy’.

The Nerazzurri tweeted: “His opponents bounce off him like a rubber wall!”
