Cagliari will open discussions with Inter over a deal for reserve goalkeeper Michele Di Gregorio this summer and the Nerazzurri are open to loaning him out.
According to FCInterNews.it, the Sardinians have identified the 23-year-old as a strong back-up for next season after catching the eye on with Monza in Serie B.
Cagliari CEO Stefano Capozucca enjoys a positive relationship with Nerazzurri counterpart Beppe Marotta and he is hoping to secure a deal, with Inter keen to allow the goalkeeper to join a top flight club for experience.
Monza’s failure to secure promotion has effectively ruled them out of being able to bring Di Gregorio back to the club, paving the way for Cagliari to move in.
The Isolani are already in negotiations with Inter to bring Belgian midfielder Radja Nainggolan to the club on a permanent deal after his loan spell, and will use the discussions to secure Di Gregorio.
