Winger Valentino Lazaro may yet have a future at Inter following his season on loan with Borussia Moenchengladbach, as the Nerazzurri consider retaining him.

As reported in today’s newspaper edition of Tuttosport, work has begun on planning for the transfer window and Inter will look to raise funds by selling unfavoured players.

However, Lazaro may be kept on in order to deputise for Achraf Hakimi, rather than Inter buying a new back-up option.

Inter must raise €60 million in sales of back-up and unwanted players and savings in wages in order to avoid being forced to sacrifice a first team regular.

Radja Nainggolan is closing in on a permanent return to Cagliari, with the Sardinians offering €5 million, plus young midfielder Riccardo Ladinetti in return. Cagliari would also forego a Scudetto bonus owed to them as part of Nicolo Barella’s move to Inter last year.

The Nerazzurri are also hoping to move Joao Mario on and the Portuguese could remain at Sporting CP following a loan spell, although they are yet to meet Inter’s €8m asking price.

Meanwhile, Chilean pair Alexis Sanchez and Arturo Vidal have been identified as potential departures, with the duo amongst the highest earners at the club, whilst Ivan Perisic may be set for a return to the Bundesliga.

Finally, Daniele Padelli will be released at the end of his contract next month, whilst Inter are undecided on offering extensions to defenders Andrea Ranocchia and Danilo D’Ambrosio.
