Inter are facing a difficult summer in which first team players will be offloaded, with the club considering cashing in on midfielder Marcelo Brozovic.
As reported in today’s newspaper edition of La Gazzetta dello Sport, President Steven Zhang is aiming to lower the wage bill at the club and reduce the average age of the squad, whilst any incoming transfers will be dependent on selling players first.
One of the most likely candidates to be sold is Croatia international Brozovic, with Paris Saint-Germain showing an interest and his €3.5 million contract set to expire next year.
Inter are also ready to consider offers for defenders Milan Skriniar and Stefan De Vrij, whilst midfielders Ivan Perisic and Christian Eriksen are not considered unsellable.
The Nerazzurri will also actively look to move Chilean pair Alexis Sanchez and Arturo Vidal on this summer, with neither establishing themselves as first choice regulars and they are amongst the highest earners at the club.
Uruguayan midfielder Matias Vecino has a year left on his €2.5m contract and could be sold, whilst Inter will also look to make savings by offloading striker Andrea Pinamonti, saving €2m across his three-year deal.
Meanwhile, five players who are out of contract this summer are expected to be released as the club look to bring the wage bill down as much as possible. Reserve goalkeeper Daniele Padelli will be let go, in addition to defenders Andrea Ranocchia, Danilo D’Ambrosio, Aleksandar Kolarov, and Ashley Young.
Finally, Inter hope to raise funds by selling Joao Mario and Radja Nainggolan, currently on loan at Sporting CP and Cagliari respectively. In addition to raising a combined €15m in transfer fees, the Nerazzurri would get Joao Mario’s €2.7m salary off their wage bill, whilst Nainggolan is currently earning a hefty €4.5m.
