After winning the inaugural ‘Interista Of The Year’ award, Inter striker Romelu Lukaku thanked his teammates and reflected on a successful season for the club.
The Belgian international appeared on Italian radio station Radio Nerazzurra earlier today to collect their award after his 23 Serie A goals propelled Antonio Conte’s side to the Scudetto.
“Thank you, I want to greet everyone. I am very happy to have won this beautiful Scudetto,” Lukaku declared.
“I would like to thank the coach and the staff, as well as all of my teammates because without them I would never have won this Scudetto and this award. I also thank all the Inter fans around the world,” he added.
The 28-year-old has featured in 35 of Inter’s matches this season and helped the club to a first league title since 2010, whilst he has also contributed a further six goals across the Coppa Italia and the Champions League.
Lukaku joined Inter from Premier League club Manchester United in 2019 and has enjoyed a prolific spell in Italy, netting 63 goals in just 94 appearances across all competitions.
He will look to reach 30 goals for the second successive campaign when the Nerazzurri face Udinese in the Serie A finale at the Stadio Giuseppe Meazza tomorrow.
