Inter’s fans will join the Nerazzurri’s Serie A title party tomorrow by flying an airship over San Siro, a report in the Italian media has revealed.
As per Gazzetta dello Sport, Inter’s Curva Nord have received permission from Italy’s civil aviation authority to fly a 15-metre-long blimp at a height of 60 metres during the Scudetto celebrations, due for 17:00 CET.
The blimp will be visible from kilometres away and will colour the sky with black-and-blue as Inter celebrate their first league title in 11 years.
Thousands of Inter fans will descend on the area outside San Siro before tomorrow’s game against Udinese, although everything will be organised in keeping with Italy’s COVID-19 restrictions.
Inter’s players will get the chance to salute their loving fans after lifting the trophy at San Siro, the Milan-based publication explained.
Antonio Conte’s side are due to walk up a flight of stairs on the stadium’s third tier so they can look down on fans outside, at which point they will hold the trophy aloft again.
Inter’s Curva Nord have been working to prepare their Scudetto festivities for more than a month, with around 4,500 fans allowed to enter the surrounding area outside San Siro.
The celebrations will be carefully organised but they nonetheless mark the start of a slow return to normality.
