Dalbert is set to return to Inter this summer after French club Rennes opted against signing him on a permanent transfer, following a season on loan.

As reported in today’s newspaper edition of Tuttosport, the Brazilian left-back has failed to convince Rennes after a campaign in which he has provided just a single assist from 17 appearances in all competitions.

After bringing him in loan last summer, Rennes had an option to sign Dalbert on a permanent deal for €12.8 million, but have decided not to exercise this and will send him back to Italy.

The 27-year-old has two years remaining on his contract at the Stadio Giuseppe Meazza and Inter are expected to send him out on loan again next season, with coach Antonio Conte finding no space for him in his plans.

Dalbert joined Inter from Nice in 2017 but has only amassed 26 appearances for the Nerazzurri, spending last season at Fiorentina before returning to Ligue 1 for the current campaign.
