Inter coach Antonio Conte is set to meet with club President Steven Zhang tomorrow to discuss the approach to next season, with his future undecided.

As reported in today’s newspaper edition of La Gazzetta dello Sport, Conte spoke to directors Beppe Marotta, Piero Ausilio, and Alessandro Antonello, as well as Vice-President Javier Zanetti, at the club’s Appiano Gentile training ground yesterday.

However, his formal talks with Zhang will take place tomorrow following the conclusion of the season, and he will seek assurances on the short-term vision of the club.

Despite securing a loan from Oaktree Capital during the week, Zhang may yet look to cut costs and offload key players in order to raise funds for any movement in the transfer market.

The newspaper suggests that the summit will take place in two phases, with Conte meeting Zhang directly before a second gathering with all the directors present.

Conte is not ready to accept a reduction of the competitiveness of the squad as he seeks to defend the Scudetto won this season and will not continue if he does not receive assurances that certain players will be retained.

He is particularly keen to keep hold of striker Lautaro Martinez and the defensive trio of Milan Skriniar, Stefan De Vrij, and Alessandro Bastoni, whilst Conte is determined not to see Inter fall back to only being able to challenge for Champions League qualification.

The former Juventus coach is also seeking guarantees from Zhang and will leave no room for doubts, so the President must convince Conte or risk seeing him walk away.
