Inter centre-back Andrea Ranocchia was overjoyed to have played a role in the Nerazzurri’s Scudetto success this season, as they ended their lengthy drought without a title.
The 33-year-old played the full match as Inter completed their Scudetto-winning season with a comprehensive 5-1 thrashing of Udinese at the Stadio Giuseppe Meazza today, and the triumph saw them become champions for the first time since 2010.
In an interview with Italian television broadcaster DAZN after the match, the former Italy international felt that his decade of service to the club had made the success even sweeter for him.
“This Scudetto makes everything worth it, I’m very happy, I almost don’t believe it yet,” Ranocchia declared.
“The dressing room was fundamental, we have created a strong group, united even when things were a little more difficult.”
Ranocchia is out of contract at Inter this summer and has thus far not penned a new deal to remain, but insisted that he was not currently thinking about his future, but rather enjoying the celebrations of winning the league.
“I don’t know yet, now I’m just thinking about enjoying the present,” the defender added.
Ranocchia joined Inter from Genoa in 2010 and has made 216 appearances for the club in all competitions, scoring 13 goals.
