After ending a 26-year partnership with shirt sponsors Pirelli, Inter will look to the US market for a new backer from next season.

As reported in today’s newspaper edition of La Gazzetta dello Sport, the Nerazzurri will no longer adorn Pirelli across the front of their kits but are yet to find a replacement, with the hunt turning to American firms.

Talks with interested parties are believed to be progressing and whilst there have been no names put forward, it is expected that an announcement over a new partnership will be made in the coming weeks.

After reaching a deal with Oaktree Capital to secure a €275 million loan last week, the pressure to find a sponsor and secure income has been eased somewhat, allowing Inter to take more time.

Pirelli, meanwhile, will remain connected to the club via a different sponsorship arrangement, with the Milan-based manufacturer becoming Inter’s official global tyre partner.

The Nerazzurri are also likely to see changes to sponsorship on their back of their shirts next season too, with Pirelli-affiliate Driver being replaced by Chinese technology manufacturers Lenovo under the player numbers on the kits.
