Inter wing-back Achraf Hakimi has admitted that he does not know if his future lies with the club next season, despite helping them to the Scudetto.

The Morocco international has played a pivotal role in the Nerazzurri’s title success this year and featured in today’s 5-1 win over Udinese, as Antonio Conte’s side rounded off their campaign in style at the Stadio Giuseppe Meazza.

In an interview with Italian television broadcaster DAZN after the final whistle, Hakimi explained a gesture made when he pointed to the badge, but did not commit to remaining at the club.

“My gesture meant that we are Italian champions. I am very happy here at Inter, but I don’t know what will happen next year. But here I am really very happy,” the 22-year-old claimed.

The former Borussia Dortmund player dedicated Inter’s title success to the club’s fans after winning the league without the supporters present for the season, whilst revealing that his teammates had helped him settle upon joining from Real Madrid last year.

“I am also very happy for the fans. For me it is worth a lot to win a trophy at Inter that had been missing for 11 years.

“Initially it was tough, a new and completely new championship. Then with the help of Lautaro [Martinez] and others it has become better and everything was easier,” he concluded.

Hakimi has made 44 appearances in all competitions for Inter this season, scoring seven goals and providing 10 assists for his teammates.
