Inter completed a clean sweep in Serie A by thrashing Udinese at San Siro, a report in the Italian media highlighted today.
As per Gazzetta dello Sport’s print edition, Antonio Conte’s side beat every opponent at least once this season after securing a 5-1 victory over Luca Gotti’s side.
Inter reached 91 points in their title-winning campaign, their second-highest points total ever, and they finished with the league’s best defence with only 35 goals conceded in 38 games.
What’s more, they finished with 89 goals scored and that is the club’s third-highest attacking tally ever, after the 1950-51 (107 goals) and 1949-50 (99) seasons.
Ashley Young opened the scoring in yesterday’s 5-1 win, before Christian Eriksen doubled Inter’s lead with a free-kick before half-time.
Lautaro Martinez scored a penalty shortly after the break and then Ivan Perisic and Romelu Lukaku added their own names to the score-sheet.
Roberto Pereyra scored a consolation for Udinese after Eriksen gave away a penalty for handball.
