Antonio Conte’s magnificent stats in charge of Inter were laid bare by a report from a leading Italian broadcaster today.

Inter appointed Conte as their head coach in 2019 after finishing fourth in Serie A under Luciano Spalletti, following a dramatic final-day win against Empoli to secure UEFA Champions League qualification.

As per Sky Sport Italia (via FcInter1908.it), Conte has taken Inter from fourth to first in two seasons while he has also earned 22 more points this year than in Spalletti’s final campaign (91 compared to 69).

Inter’s points-per-game average has therefore risen from 1.8 in 2018-19 to 2.4, highlighting just how big a step the Nerazzurri have taken under Conte.

Conte has also got Inter scoring far more goals than they did under Spalletti, with 89 in Serie A this season compared to just 57 in the 2018-19 campaign (an increase of 32).

What’s more, Inter are scoring with more players, with Ashley Young yesterday becoming the 17th different Nerazzurri man to find the net this season.

Spalletti’s Inter scored with 13 different players two seasons ago, underlining that Inter are now less reliant on certain individuals than they were before.
