Antonio Conte is more likely to leave Inter with each day that passes, according to a report in the Italian media today.
As per Tuttosport’s print edition, Conte is worried that the Nerazzurri are focused purely on financial objectives and do not intend to keep the team competitive at a high level.
He wants a clear project at Inter which will ensure the likes of Romelu Lukaku, Lautaro Martinez, Achraf Hakimi, Nicolo Barella, Milan Skriniar, Stefan de Vrij and Alessandro Bastoni are not sold.
Conte remains unclear about Suning’s plans for the club though and there is no sign of Steven Zhang agreeing to meet him.
Zhang is also irritated by the current situation, the Turin-based paper claimed, because he thought he had been very clear about Suning’s intentions for next season and beyond.
If Conte parted ways with Inter, the parties would need to negotiate an agreement so that Inter didn’t need to sack him, as that would cost around €7 million.
Beppe Marotta could seek either Massimiliano Allegri or Simone Inzaghi – if he didn’t sign a new deal with Lazio – as a replacement, if it reached that stage.
