Inter will sell Lautaro Martinez or Alessandro Bastoni in the summer, according to a report in the Italian media today.
Corriere dello Sport’s print edition said the Nerazzurri would do everything to limit the number of players in their starting XI that they had to sell for financial reasons.
However, one sacrifice is expected and it is likely to be one of those two, as Inter look to cut costs ahead of next season.
Lautaro and Bastoni both have lots of interest from other big clubs and would guarantee Inter healthy capital gains for their accounts.
Antonio Conte had this explained to him on Saturday when Beppe Marotta and the rest of Inter’s directors visited Appiano Gentile, the Rome-based paper revealed.
Inter’s head coach still wants a meeting with club president Steven Zhang, but now it seems Zhang doesn’t think a summit is even necessary, unless Conte makes an express request to have one.
The pair are clearly not communicating much at present and that is unlikely to be good news as far as Conte’s future is concerned.
