Corriere della Sera’s print edition confirmed there was ‘a nasty atmosphere’ around the Nerazzurri and it could not be excluded that Conte would leave after two seasons in charge.
Inter need to reduce ambitions because of their financial problems, which obliges them to sell one or more key players like Lautaro Martinez and Alessandro Bastoni.
Conte cannot accept such a scenario though and could therefore secure a mutual termination agreement with Inter for around €6 million (nearly half of his €13 million annual salary for next season).
Everything will be settled by the weekend and although Conte would want to continue at Inter, it seems increasingly unlikely that this can happen.
Tottenham Hotspur are interested in appointing Conte and his departure from Inter could persuade them to step up their pursuit.

Inter could be forced to hire a lower-profile coach who is less appealing but more financially viable, the report warned.
