Antonio Conte is destined to leave Inter before Saturday, an Italian news agency confirmed today.

ANSA said it ‘seemed inevitable’ the parties would part ways less than a month after the Nerazzurri won their first Serie A title in 11 years.

Suning’s project does not coincide with Conte’s ambitions for Inter, because the club need to balance the books by cutting costs and selling key players, in order to avoid ‘dramatic consequences’.

Conte cannot accept such a scenario and this is pushing him towards finding a solution for a mutual termination agreement with Inter.

Inter and Conte will reach an agreement in all likelihood before Saturday, the report added, without any need for the parties to meet again in person.

Conte has been in charge of Inter for two seasons and has transformed their fortunes, leading them to the Scudetto despite all the difficulties posed by the COVID-19 pandemic.

He has a year left on his contract but seems destined to leave a year early.
