Inter have four options in line to replace Antonio Conte, a report in the Italian media claimed today.

Corriere dello Sport’s print edition confirmed Conte was due to leave the Nerazzurri before this weekend, having decided he cannot continue if the club reduce ambitions and sell key players.

Massimiliano Allegri, who has interest from Juventus and Real Madrid, is Inter’s first option to step in for Conte, but Sinisa Mihajlovic is in contention too with him not certain to stay at Bologna.

Paulo Fonseca and Maurizio Sarri also have the approval of some at the club though, meaning they are possible candidates too.

Conte could take a sabbatical year after leaving Inter or he could dive into a new adventure, with Tottenham Hotspur known to be very keen on his services in the Premier League.

He has had no contact from Inter president Steven Zhang despite expecting a phone call to clarify things, and a mutual termination agreement seems likely now.

Inter and Conte’s legal representatives are set for an interesting few days as the parties look to secure the most economically favourable conditions from Conte’s exit.

The Nerazzurri’s club lawyer Angelo Capellini has been at their offices in Milan for two days running and this is another sign that the end is nigh for Conte.
