Simone Inzaghi kept his cards close to his chest tonight when asked if he could leave Lazio for Inter.
Inter are seeking a new head coach for next season after announcing earlier tonight that they had parted company with Antonio Conte by mutual consent.
Inzaghi is meeting Lazio president Claudio Lotito tonight to discuss his future, with his contract due to expire at the end of next month.
Asked by reporters if he would be staying in the capital, Inzaghi said: “We’ll see, we’re going for dinner.”
As per Gianluca Di Marzio, Inzaghi is the most realistic option for Inter as they try to replace Conte, and he is ‘tempted’ by the idea.
The Nerazzurri have already been in contact with him and are hoping Lotito is unable to persuade Inzaghi to remain in Rome.
Inter would want to hire former Juventus boss Max Allegri as Conte’s successor, but he costs a lot of money and is in any case in talks with a return to the Bianconeri.
