Inter have begun their mission to offload Arturo Vidal and Alexis Sanchez, according to a report in the Italian media today.

FcInterNews.it said the Nerazzurri had told the players’ agent Fernando Felicevich to find new clubs for both players, because they can no longer afford their salaries.

Vidal and Sanchez earn too much for players who are not guaranteed starters at Inter, so the Nerazzurri want them off their wage bill before the end of the summer.

Inter would be willing to let both leave for free, so long as they can save money on the Chilean duo’s heavy salaries.

Suning’s strategy of cutting costs and lowering the wage bill remains intact and unchanged after Antonio Conte left Inter by mutual consent, the report assured.

Some players who earn too much will be asked to take a pay cut, while others will be accompanied to the exit door.

Vidal is under contract with Inter until 2022 and has ‘timid’ interest from Marseille, while Sanchez has another two years left on his deal with the Serie A champions.

Both players’ futures could change, however, if Inter hire a new head coach who wishes to keep one or both of them, but that is a scenario to deal with at a future date.
