Inter are braced for a very difficult summer after Antonio Conte left by mutual consent, according to a report in the Italian media today.
Corriere della Sera’s print edition warned there was a risk of several big players leaving following Conte’s departure, which became official last night.
Inter’s board of directors is due to meet today and within the next 48 hours they will present a new three-year financial plan for the club.
The Nerazzurri’s economic situation is very difficult and this is widely expected to lead to one or two key player sales.
Inter have secured a replacement for Conte after agreeing a deal with Lazio boss Simone Inzaghi, with an official announcement due tomorrow.
Inzaghi was expected to sign a new three-year contract with the Biancocelesti, but everything changed earlier today when Inter came back in with an improved bid.
Inter must now turn their attention to life after Conte and they will do so with the coach who finished sixth in Serie A this season.
