Inter are on the verge of announcing a contract extension for Alessandro Bastoni, according to a report in the Italian media today.

Gazzetta dello Sport’s print edition said Bastoni would sign a three-year deal, tying him down until 2024, with his annual salary increased to €4 million after tax.

Inter CEO Beppe Marotta has broken the impasse surrounding Bastoni’s contract after meeting the defender’s agent Tulio Tinti yesterday.

Marotta made significant steps forward and it won’t be long at all now until the 22-year-old’s renewal is officially confirmed.

Inter had already agreed Bastoni’s new deal a month ago, and now the final details are all that need sorting.

Those details include the payment structure for Bastoni’s wages and a few incentives related to when he signs the new deal.

Bastoni was closely attached to Antonio Conte but it looks as if Conte’s departure won’t change his future, with Inter ready to make him a cornerstone of their future team.
