Ashley Young is all but certain to leave Inter after his representatives began talks with Watford, according to a report in the UK.

Sky Sports said Watford were negotiating a return for the 35-year-old, who is out of contract at the end of the season.

The parties are currently discussing personal terms and it looks as if Young will be offered a one-year deal to re-join his former club.

Young was part of the Inter side that won the club’s first Serie A title in 11 years this season, albeit he wasn’t a first-choice option for most of the campaign.

Inter signed Young from Manchester United in 2020 after a request from Antonio Conte, who parted company with the Nerazzurri on Wednesday.

Young has made 59 appearances in all competitions since, scoring five goals and providing nine assists.

The Englishman opened the scoring in last weekend’s Serie A finale at home to Udinese, which Inter won 5-1, but that looks certain to be his last goal for the Nerazzurri.
