Simone Inzaghi will get the final say on whether Federico Dimarco plays for Inter next season, according to a report in the Italian media today.
Tuttosport’s print edition revealed Inter had rejected an approach for the full-back from Torino, who are about to appoint Dimarco’s former Hellas Verona boss Ivan Juric.
Juric wanted Dimarco in Turin after enjoying the 23-year-old’s services this season, but Inter want to keep him for at least pre-season training before deciding his future.
Inzaghi will decide what to do with Dimarco, who scored five goals and provided five assists for the Gialloblu during the 2020-21 campaign.
Inter are poised for a revolution in the left wing-back position, with Ashley Young set to be released and Ivan Perisic also uncertain to stay.
Dimarco would have been an ideal reinforcement for Antonio Conte’s 3-5-2 system, but Inzaghi uses the same formation and could decide to keep him with the first team anyway.
