Samir Handanovic was one of many Inter players on Thursday to pay tribute to Antonio Conte, after he left the club by mutual consent.
Inter announced Conte’s departure on Wednesday night after two seasons in charge, in which he led the Nerazzurri to their first Serie A title in 11 years.
Simone Inzaghi is expected to replace Conte, having opted against signing a new deal at Lazio, with an official announcement due today.
Handanovic posted on Instagram: “It’s been two tough and tiring years, but in the end we won and our work paid off.
“You were tough but fair, with you I learned things as a player and as a captain.
“You were the one who always raised the bar and gave everyone the right amount of pressure.
“You’re the one who made the difference.
“Thank you mister and thanks to your staff, it’s been a pleasure and an honour to work and win with you.”
