Stefan de Vrij was one of many Inter players on Thursday to pay tribute to Antonio Conte, after he left the club by mutual consent.
Inter announced Conte’s departure on Wednesday night after two seasons in charge, in which he led the Nerazzurri to their first Serie A title in 11 years.
Simone Inzaghi is expected to replace Conte, having opted against signing a new deal at Lazio, with an official announcement due today.
De Vrij posted on Instagram: “Thank you mister for these two years together.
“You raised the bar and, thanks to hard work and the mentality you instilled in us, our efforts were rewarded.
“You taught us so much.
“It was an honour to play for you!
“Thank you and your staff for everything, good luck for the future.”
