Simone Inzaghi could ask Inter to sign his favourite midfield star from Lazio, according to a report in the Italian media today.
Il Messaggero’s print edition claimed Inzaghi could ask Beppe Marotta to chase a deal for Luis Alberto, with whom he has always enjoyed a great personal relationship.
Luis Alberto has always stayed close to Inzaghi, even when he got into trouble with Lazio for comments made on a few occasions, and he would be the ideal reinforcement for Inter under the ex-Lazio boss.
Inzaghi turned Luis Alberto from a bit-part player, following his arrival from Liverpool in 2016, into one of Serie A’s most talented and lethal midfielders.
As much as Inzaghi might want to sign the Spaniard, though, there are several obstacles which could prevent Inter and Lazio from securing a deal.
The Laziali have explained that Stefan de Vrij’s controversial free transfer in 2018 and Inzaghi’s last-minute move to Inter this week have not exactly improved relations between the clubs.
