Simone Inzaghi will be unveiled as Inter’s new head coach early next week, according to a report in the Italian media today.
Gazzetta dello Sport’s print edition said Inzaghi would sign a two-year deal with the Nerazzurri, with an annual salary worth €4 million plus bonuses.
Inter will save money compared to the €13 million they would have had to pay Antonio Conte for the final year of his contract, despite the €6.5 million payoff to their former boss.
Inzaghi would have earned €2.5 million per season at Lazio, had he signed his new three-year contract, so this is a significant pay rise for him all the same.
Inter will not see Inzaghi in Milan today to sign the deal and announce his appointment, the Milan-based paper explained, but he already has clear ideas about his staff.
Inzaghi will bring his trusted assistant Massimiliano Farris and technical colleague Mario Cecchi with him to Inter, along with fitness coach Fabio Ripert.
Antonio Conte’s staff will follow him out of the club, the report added, apart from goalkeeping coach Adriano Bonaiuti and nutritionist Matteo Pincella who will stay.
