Simone Inzaghi wants to bring one of his most trusted servants at Lazio with him to Inter, according to a report in the Italian media today.
Gazzetta.it claimed Inzaghi had set his sights on signing Stefan Radu when he becomes the Nerazzurri’s new head coach (which will be officially confirmed soon).
Radu, 34, is out of contract with Lazio next month and doesn’t seem close to agreeing a renewal with the Biancocelesti.
The Romanian has always had a close relationship with Inzaghi and could come in handy for Inter, who are set to release three centre-backs – Danilo D’Ambrosio, Aleksandar Kolarov and Andrea Ranocchia – in the summer.
Lazio are showing no sign of opening contract talks with Radu and he therefore feels free to start negotiating with other clubs.
Inzaghi would be more than happy to have Radu in the San Siro dressing room, having persuaded Lazio not to sell him two years ago when it seemed inevitable after a breakdown in relations.
Radu is Lazio’s all-time record appearance maker, having played 412 times in all competitions since joining the capital club in 2008.
