Inter wing-back Achraf Hakimi is on the verge of joining Paris Saint-Germain after being convinced by the Ligue 1 club, according to French journalist Mohamed Bouhafsi.

The Morocco international has been strongly linked with a departure from the Stadio Giuseppe Meazza after just a single season, as Inter look to raise funds through player sales.

In a tweet today, RMC Sport journalist Bouhafsi suggested that PSG had reached an agreement with the Nerazzurri to secure the 22-year-old, whilst Hakimi himself was keen to make the move after being convinced by PSG’s plans and had agreed a deal with them.

However, he also revealed that Champions League finalists Chelsea were determined to bring Hakimi to the Premier League, whilst maintaining that PSG are the favourites.

“As announced yesterday, negotiations are progressing well between PSG and Inter. The two clubs are close to an agreement. PSG have an agreement in principal with Hakimi and he is convinced by the Parisian project. The third club involved is Chelsea,” Bouhafsi tweeted.

Hakimi joined Inter from Real Madrid last year, scoring seven goals and providing 10 assists in all competitions as the Nerazzurri won the Scudetto for the first time since 2010.
