Inter striker Romelu Lukaku is considering his future at the club following the departure of former coach Antonio Conte, but incoming Simone Inzaghi will look to convince him.
Conte walked away from the Nerazzurri this week after two years at the helm, despite leading the club to the Scudetto, to be replaced by Lazio coach Inzaghi.
As reported in today’s newspaper edition of La Gazzetta dello Sport, top scorer Lukaku has been shaken by Conte’s exit and is concerned about the club’s ambitions for next season.
It is expected that high on Inzaghi’s first priorities is a meeting with Lukaku to convince the 28-year-old to remain, whilst Inter are determined to hold on to him despite interest from elsewhere.
However, an alternative has already been identified should Lukaku leave, with Inzaghi keen to raid his former club for Ciro Immobile.
The Italian international has scored 150 goals in 219 appearances across five seasons at the Stadio Olimpico and Inzaghi would be keen to reunite with him should he lose Lukaku.
