Inter have begun searching for alternatives for wing-back Achraf Hakimi ahead of his impending sale and have drawn up a shortlist that includes Alessandro Florenzi and Emerson Royal.
As reported in today’s newspaper edition of Tuttosport, Hakimi is on the verge of a move to Paris Saint-Germain and Barcelona’s Emerson is the favourite to replace him.
The Brazilian international has spent the past two seasons on loan at Real Betis and Inter feel that the 22-year-old has sufficient potential to develop into an important player in Serie A.
However, the Nerazzurri may turn to the more experienced option of Florenzi after PSG decided against exercising a permanent deal following a loan spell from Roma.
The Italian will return to his hometown club and be assessed by newly appointed coach Jose Mourinho before the Giallorossi decide whether to retain him, and if the ex-Inter tactician sees no future for him it would pave the way for a move to the Nerazzurri.
Alternatively, Inter could target Chelsea wing-back Davide Zappacosta after a season on loan at Genoa this term. The Italy international has fallen out of favour at Stamford Bridge and the Champions League winners have no intention of retaining him.
