The agent of Inter pair Achraf Hakimi and Lautaro Martinez insisted that he isn’t in talks over a move for the former, whilst assessing the contract situation of the latter.

The Nerazzurri are facing an uncertain transfer window as they seek to cut costs and raise funds, with key players being linked with departures just weeks after winning the Scudetto.

In an interview with Italian television broadcaster Telelombardia earlier today, Alejandro Camano claimed that he hadn’t been in discussions with anyone over the sale of Hakimi, despite reported interest from Paris Saint-Germain, Chelsea, and Bayern Munich.

“There is no situation at the moment. I haven’t talked to any club and I don’t think Inter have either. It is a difficult time for football, there is a difficult economic situation,” Camano stated.

“It is not easy to get out of this complicated situation due to COVID-19. I think it is not possible today to say who will leave Inter from Inter to fix this difficult economic situation.

“He is very young, joining Inter was a very intelligent decision. When the transfer window opens, we receive calls you for players, for all the players. The transfer market begins and if Inter are in trouble we will understand what to do. The market will tell.”

However, Camano felt that Inter had done good business in securing Hakimi from Real Madrid last summer after a positive loan spell with Borussia Dortmund.

“I must congratulate the Inter directors because after Dortmund many clubs looked at him but he came here. I don’t know the cost of the transfer market and the player is owned by the club. There is a demand and there is an offer.”

Camano also recently took on striker Lautaro Martinez as a client and has been working on a new contract for the Argentina international.

“I have reached his proxy to date and I have to speak with Inter but the relationship with the club is good. If the renewal agreement was not reached earlier it is due to the previous agent.

“[Director Piero] Ausilio is an important professional who defends the interests of the club very well. Now there will be a new coach, first we need to understand the sporting aspect and then we will talk about all the players who are very important.

“Hakimi still has a 4 year contract and Lautaro two. In the future I don’t know, all players have a price and I believe that if all of Europe has seen Inter and their title-winning football, all the players will be taken into consideration.”

Inter have faced financial difficulties this season and owners Suning had deferred players’ wages, but Camano did not want to criticise the club.

“Inter have a long history. We all go through complicated moments. I don’t want to talk about Inter’s problems. I would like to say how happy the players were to have won, to have played good football and then lifted the Scudetto. Inter is Inter, a historic team. [Ex-President Massimo] Moratti is a great for me.”

The Nerazzurri are set for a change of coach this summer after Antonio Conte departed, with Simone Inzaghi due to take over, and Camano felt that this was a decision for the club to make.

“I think that if the directors decided that he was the coach, he was the best coach for Inter. The players have no opinion on this. I think he is a great coach and we don’t have an opinion on that.

“Football is not easy but he has experience, we don’t know him personally but we believe he is good. We wish the best to Conte.”
