Inter will look to bring in €120 million through player sales over the transfer window and could lose striker Lautaro Martinez to Real Madrid.
As reported in today’s newspaper edition of Tuttosport, owners Suning have tasked directors Beppe Marotta and Piero Ausilio with raising significant funds in the transfer market as they look to cut costs at the club.
Negotiations have already begun for the sale of wing-back Achraf Hakimi and French club Paris Saint-Germain have submitted a €60m offer, although Inter are holding out for closer to €80m despite talks being at an advanced stage.
However, there is also a fear that Martinez may depart after Real Madrid identified him as a transfer target. The Argentina international is currently in talks with Inter over a new contract that would see his salary rise to €4.5m and remove a €111m release clause.
Despite this, Real Madrid’s interest could prove too tempting for Inter to turn down and they are ready to test the Nerazzurri’s resolve with a €90m bid for the former Racing Club striker, of which €60m would be paid up front.
