Inter wing-back Achraf Hakimi is closing in on a move to Paris Saint-Germain as the two clubs look to finalise a deal as soon as possible.

As reported in today’s newspaper edition of La Gazzetta dello Sport, negotiations are at an advanced stage and the Morocco international has already agreed terms with PSG, who must now meet Inter’s asking price.

The Ligue 1 club have so far seen a €60 million bid rejected and Inter are holding out for closer to €70m, and have demanded payment rather than player exchanges, despite an interest in midfielder Leandro Paredes.

Despite this, the newspaper are confident that the transfer will be completed and it is only a matter of time before Hakimi is a PSG player.

The 22-year-old only arrived at Inter last year in a €40m deal from Real Madrid and enjoyed a stellar debut season, scoring seven goals as the Nerazzurri won the Scudetto.

Meanwhile, the sale of Hakimi could ensure that no other significant players are offloaded this summer as Inter attempt to balance the books and cut costs.

There had been fears of widespread departures, but by sacrificing the wing-back it is expected that the Nerazzurri will be able to retain the core of their title-winning team.
