Incoming Inter coach Simone Inzaghi will hold discussions with individual members of the team as he attempts to build support from the squad.
As reported in today’s newspaper edition of Corriere dello Sport, Inzaghi faces a difficult task in galvanising a team that had shown unwavering backing to predecessor Antonio Conte before he quit last week following a disagreement with the ownership over future plans.
The newspaper warns that Inzaghi must take a soft approach to the Inter squad after the spirit built under Conte and the 45-year-old is expected to avoid any temptation to overhaul the team, but rather take small steps.
Inzaghi has already laid out his plans with directors Beppe Marotta and Piero Ausilio during remote meetings, whilst it is believed that he has been in contact with defender Stefan De Vrij after previously working with him at Lazio.
Meanwhile, Nerazzurri striker Romelu Lukaku has sounded out the opinion of brother Jordan, who spent four years under Inzaghi at the Aquile, and the coach is determined to get his key players onside as soon as possible.
However, it is stressed that Inzaghi is not a rookie and only returning Juventus coach Massimiliano Allegri has won more than his Coppa Italia and two Supercoppa Italiana trophies in the last five seasons.
