Inter have discussed signing Nahitan Nandez during their talks with Cagliari over Radja Nainggolan, according to a report in the Italian media today.
Corriere dello Sport’s print edition said Nandez could be used to help the clubs find the right valuation for a Nainggolan deal, although he also has interest from Roma and Lazio.
The Uruguay international has a release clause worth €36 million, so Inter would need to pay a significant fee on top of Nainggolan to secure a deal.
For now, it is only an idea the clubs have ‘touched upon’ and nothing more, but while it would be difficult to reach an agreement it shouldn’t be excluded completely.
Beppe Marotta and Piero Ausilio want to sell Nainggolan to Cagliari before June 30, without recording a loss on the Belgian midfielder.
Inter are planning to agree a fee with Cagliari president Tommaso Giulini, because Nainggolan would want a payoff from the Nerazzurri in order to terminate his contract (and join the Rossoblu for free).
