Beppe Marotta is working to ensure Inter can announce Simone Inzaghi’s arrival as soon as possible, according to a report in Italy today.

Corriere dello Sport’s print edition said the Nerazzurri were unable to unveil their new head coach for now because Inzaghi left Lazio – with whom he is still under contract until June 30 – on bad terms with Claudio Lotito.

Marotta will make an attempt to resolve the impasse this week by getting in touch with Lotito, with whom he shares the role of federal adviser to the Lega Serie A.

Inter would be able to work more freely and openly with Inzaghi if they could announce his appointment on a two-year deal soon.

Inzaghi has already begun working for life at Inter with transfer talks and meetings over pre-season plans, the Rome-based paper continued.

Marotta wants the appointment to become official though, so he will try to get a concession from Lotito when the pair speak.
