Inter will struggle to finance a deal for Chelsea full-back Emerson Palmieri this summer, according to a report in the Italian media today.

Gazzetta dello Sport’s print edition said the Nerazzurri would find it difficult because Chelsea are still demanding €20 million to sell the Italy international.

Inter could well sell Achraf Hakimi in the next couple of weeks and they are moving to source alternatives, should the Moroccan international depart.

Emerson is one of the possible targets while Alessandro Florenzi is another, after Paris Saint-Germain decided not to purchase the Roma man permanently.

It remains unclear how much Roma would want to sell Florenzi, although the option to buy they gave PSG was fixed at €9 million.

Beppe Marotta and Piero Ausilio are inevitably seeking low-cost options to reinforce the Nerazzurri’s squad, due to the club’s financial problems.

Elsewhere, Inter are open to selling Stefano Sensi (who cost €25 million from Sassuolo) and Fiorentina could end up being a good option for the midfielder.
