Inter are waiting for Lautaro Martinez to make a decision on his future, according to a report in the Italian media today.
Corriere dello Sport’s print edition said the Nerazzurri might not need to sell other star players if they can secure money for Achraf Hakimi and various other fringe players.
However, Beppe Marotta does not normally keep players if they want to leave and so Inter could change their strategy if Lautaro made it clear that he wished to move on.
Real Madrid, Atletico Madrid and Barcelona are all tempted by a deal for El Toro, but everything is down to the striker and what he wants to do.
Inter have all but agreed a contract extension with Lautaro, the Rome-based paper explained, which would see the 23-year-old’s annual salary rise to €4.5 million plus bonuses after tax.
His agent Alejandro Camano was recently in Madrid though, which has only further fuelled speculation that he could be on his way out.
Inter’s directors have assured that Hakimi would be their only high-profile sale of the summer, the report added, but Lautaro’s future remains uncertain.
