Andrea Pinamonti insists he has become a better player this season despite hardly featuring for Inter.
Inter won their first Serie A title in 11 years but have since been rocked by the departure of Antonio Conte, who couldn’t accept Suning’s plans to cut costs and potentially sell players.
Pinamonti made only 10 appearances in all competitions but the 22-year-old is confident this season will help improve the rest of his career.
“I’ve learned more this season than I have on many other occasions,” the Inter striker told L’Adige (via CalcioNews24).
“I always had the faith of Antonio Conte, who gave me my debut in the Coppa Italia and the UEFA Champions League.”
Pinamonti scored his first senior goal for Inter during the 5-1 win over Sampdoria earlier this month, four years after making his first-team debut.
“I can say it was an indescribable feeling,” he explained.
“It was already incredible for me to win the Scudetto, but I scored as well and that crowned a fantastic year.”
Pinamonti was delighted with the season in general, adding: “It was a fantastic season which ended with a big party.
“Inter are the team I’ve always had in my heart ever since I started playing football.
“Lifting the Italian trophy into the sky was full of lots of emotions, an experience I won’t forget for the rest of my life.”
Pinamonti also had words of praise for his Inter teammates, who have secured the club’s first major trophy since way back in 2011 when the Nerazzurri won the Coppa Italia.
“We have lots of champions and leaders in this fantastic group,” Pinamonti argued.
“We spoke with each other lots and we always went onto the pitch with the right spirit.
“I think this is the year in which I’ve made most improvements, despite playing less, because I’ve had the chance to play with these champions.
“This Scudetto is the result of this group being united, you saw that on the pitch.
“My teammates have helped me improve, especially in situations where I had a few flaws.”
Pinamonti played a total of 172 minutes across his 10 appearances this season.
