Valentino Lazaro is feeling very relaxed about his future despite having no idea where he’ll play next season.
Inter sent Lazaro on a season-long loan to Borussia Monchengladbach for the 2020-21 campaign, but the Bundesliga side have opted not to use their option to make the move permanent.
Lazaro is therefore due to return to Inter for pre-season training, following his involvement with Austria at the European Championships.
“I still have a three-year contract with the champions of Italy, so I have no stress or anxiety,” the wing-back told reporters from Austria’s training camp (via FcInterNews.it).
“Lots of players without contracts aren’t as well off as me.
“There’s been a radical change at Inter (Antonio Conte leaving) and a new coach is coming, some players will leave.
“I’ll do pre-season training there, then we’ll see if this time I adapt better or if I’ll do something else.”
Lazaro made 28 appearances while on loan for Borussia Monchengladbach, scoring twice and providing one assist for Marco Rose’s side.
The 25-year-old played against his parent club Inter back in December, when the Nerazzurri visited Borussia-Park for matchday 5 of their UEFA Champions League group campaign and won 3-2.
Inter signed Lazaro from Hertha BSC in 2019 but the Austria international never managed to settle under Antonio Conte, spending the second half of last season at Newcastle before moving back to Germany on loan last summer.
