Newly appointed Napoli coach Luciano Spalletti has asked the club to sign Uruguayan international midfielder Matias Vecino from Inter, Italian media reports.
This according to Italian media agency ANSA via (FcInter1908) who report that the former Roma coach wants the Partenopei to sign Vecino this summer.
Luciano Spalletti brought Vecino to Inter from Fiorentina during his two year stint in charge of the Nerazzurri and is now keen to be reunited with his former player at Napoli.
The former Nacional midfielder missed most this past season due to a knee injury which required surgery, but managed to recover for the end of the season featuring eight times and scoring the one goal.
Vecino’s current deal with Inter is set to expire at the end of June 2022 and it is believed that an offer around €8-10 million will suffice to convince the Nerazzurri to part ways with him.
Vecino joined Inter in the summer of 2017 in a deal worth reportedly around €24 million and has since then featured 104 times for the club across all competitions scoring 12 goals in the process.
